The Ultimate Guide to Watch Choosing

Bonjour, mes amis!

In this busy place that we have created for ourselves, it’s easy to lose track of time. Though, this is not a post related to medicine or wine, it’s the building blocks for success in your chosen field; be it a Doctor, Esthetician, Engineer, school or Dance teacher.

Soooo, tell me ladies, do you find yourself loosing track of time, missing important occasions and meetings, digging through your pockets or bags as you arrive fashionably late to your destination?

Time is GOLD, and you can do wonderful things with time; time is not malleable and most importantly, time is limited!

Punctuality is a problem for a lot of people, but it’s an essential part of character and succeeding in life.

Therefore, I thought compiling an easy-to-look-back-to guide, that is beginner friendly could help next time you are out shopping and happen to pass by the sparkling glass watch counter. If you do, pull out my guide. It’ll come in handy if you’re a veteran adding to the collection or purchasing your very first watch.
Read on to find out the main tips on watch choosing, that will revamp your fashion IQ and life! I will guarantee that adding a good quality watch, suitable for every #chicmedwoman’s taste, will change your awareness of time and attain control of your life. 🙂

The 3 Main Things to Look Out For:

  1. Choose The Movement Type Of the Watch

The movement type is essential when you go out to buy a watch. There are two types of watches:

  • Quartz
  • Mechanical

A Quartz watch will be powered by a battery, that you can change when it expires and the Mechanical watch are powered by the careful mechanical structure inside the watch, i.e. the spring and gears and is usually manual or self-winding.

Both of these watches can be pricey, but well worth it for their characteristics, like:

  • reliability
  • practicality
  • maintenance efficiency

One of my favourite watches that I own: Citizen, Eco-Drive WR100. It’s Solar Powered!

Be on the look out for these characteristics, it is possible to have a fashionably and professionally versatile watch, you just need to spend some “time” on it. Irony intended.

2. Choose The Type And Style Of Watch

When you are shopping for a watch, remember to take style and type into account, as that will pull your look together, be it for professional purposes, date night or everyday wear. You should opt to choose a style and type that is versatile for your life:

Style: Watches with a circular shape can create the twist for ladies, but a masculine square can add some Oompf and chicness. There are many  types of watches to choose from, such as the sporty functional watch, the jewelry timepiece, and dress watches. To reduce your options, you should look into the type of strap you want for your watch and make sure it’s versatile with your everyday life. The two main styles to look out for are:

Bracelet vs Strap

Bracelet watches acquires a formal and classic look, while remaining softly luxurious, a good brand to look through, would be Cartier. Then there are strap-material types, like leather straps can be used popularly and are incredibly stylish, giving you a put-together look while having the freedom to wear it out casually. As for Rubber straps can have a long life and can be cleaned easily and are usually more prominent in sport watches.

Material: The material plays in the type and style of watch for your lifestyle and occasion. The material can be metal, platinum or gold, stylized with precious stones, like diamonds, amber, swarvoski gems, zirconia, and pearls.

Golden accessories come in many shades: rose gold, pink gold, classical yellow gold, and platinum. Stainless steel is also used widely by many timepiece creators in order to bring a more solid and masculine look for women’s watches. Ceramic can also be used in some modern designs, as it’s practical to wear, does not scratch and brings a polished look for the wearer.

3. The Watch Must Have a “WOW!” Factor

Diamonds never becomes tasteless or out-of-fashion and impress with exquisite accessories. However, if Diamonds are out of the questions, consider other gems and precious stones and other detail; they can add some elegance and grace to the watch (See picture below).
